City of Shasta Lake Deploys Envision Solar EV ARC™
-
Shasta Lake Features the Envision Solar EV ARC™ Standalone Solar
Charging Station at the City’s Grand River municipal parking lot on
Shasta Dam Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – August 28th 2014 – Envision Solar International, Inc.,
(OTCQB: EVSI) ("Envision Solar," or the "Company"), the leading
renewable energy Media and Branding, and EV charging product company,
announced today that the City of Shasta Lake, California has initiated
their electric vehicle charging program with the installation of an
Envision Solar EV ARC™ standalone Solar Charging Station. This fully
renewably energized EV charger will be located at the City’s Grand River
municipal parking lot on Shasta Dam Boulevard and will be available
free of charge to the public. The EV ARC™ will be equipped with a
standard Level II EV charger and power outlets to enable electric
wheelchair charging. The EV ARC™ is a cost-effective, easy-to-install, standalone solar charging station that requires no engineering, foundation, trenching, building permit or grid connection. Invented, engineered and manufactured in the United States, the EV ARC™ fits inside a standard parking space and generates enough renewable energy to provide an average of 55 and as many as over 100 electric miles each day. The energy is stored and ready for use in the 22 kWh on-board battery storage. The system's clean solar electrical generation is enhanced by the patented EnvisionTrak™ sun tracking system, enabling the solar array to follow the sun, generating 18 to 25 percent more electricity than a conventional fixed array.
The City of Shasta Lake is a pristine community located on the Interstate 5 corridor just north of Redding in northern California. The proximity of the EV ARC™ to Interstate 5 will contribute to Governor Brown’s initiative to create EV charging infrastructure on California’s Interstate system.
Tom Miller, Assistant City Manager and Electric Utility Director for the City of Shasta said, "Clean and reliable energy is very important to the City of Shasta and so is being ready for the rapid growth in EV adoption. We were very happy to find this unique product, which solves so many of the challenges associated with EV charger deployments and has no negative environmental impact. The fact that Envision Solar is a Californian company with American made, environmental sustainability products means that this is a win for the people of Shasta and California."
"This deployment in Shasta Lake further demonstrate the value of the EV ARC,” said Desmond Wheatley, CEO of Envision Solar. “It was not economically feasible to run trenching and grid connections to this important location but the EV ARC delivers EV charging where traditional chargers cannot. Additionally, this will be the first EV ARC to offer electric wheelchair charging, something we are very proud of. We are delighted to have the City of Shasta as a customer and look forward to working with them and other cities to deliver renewably energized EV charging without the difficult or sometimes impossible tasks associated with tying to the grid.”
