In this weeks episode of the EV Answer Man, we take a close up look at two of only 22 all electric Tropicas made by Bob Beaumont's Renaissance Cars in 1995.  Some history behind the car, and close up video of a vehicle with panels removed.

Wow!

Who would have guessed that a guy tinkering away in a small town in Northern California would be that interesting.

I don't think it's the guy, but what he's doing.

He's helping change the world by helping people change from internal combustion to electric.

This is one of the next great advancements/changes for mankind.  The number of benefits is huge.

What's the Best part about owning and driving an Electric Vehicle?

I've been driving an EV for several years and I'm not sure what I like best.
  • I definitely like not having to go the the gas station.
  • Plugging in at home or at work is so easy.
  • No maintenance or repair costs.  (I do kind of miss the folks down at NAPA.)
  • Driving for less than 3 cents a mile, I like that too.
  • Being part of the solution, and not spending money that goes to those that want to kill me. (Selfish)
  • Not having a clue what the price of gas is.  (cool)
So I'm curious what others think the Best part is of driving an EV.  (I'm talking about an all electric vehicle, not a hybrid.)  Email me at EV4Uinc@yahoo.com and let me your thoughts.

EV4U delivered the Porsche back to Sacramento the following Saturday.
This is just one example of the Outreach Program from EV4U Custom Conversions.  They work with High Schools and Colleges throughout the west.
Promoting Electric Vehicles is what we're all about.
Be sure and sign up for our Conversion Workshops while there is still time.  These were very popular last year, and space is limited.
The students from George Washington Carver School in Sacramento working on the 1972 Porsche 914 at EV4U's shop.
Nice looking car.  The students have worked hard on this project, and have had help along the way.
EV4U traveled to Sacramento, California on January 4, 2013 to assist students from the George Washington Carver School of Arts and Science with their Porsche 914 conversion.
The following weekend they came up to EV4U's facility in Shasta Lake to get some serious work done.  The weekend proved not to be long enough, so they left the vehicle with EV4U in order to make additional progress.
